Officially known as the Commonwealth of Dominica, this beautiful island lies midway in the archipelago of islands comprising the Eastern Caribbean. It is located between the French islands of Guadeloupe to the north and Martinique to the south and boasts pristine sandy beaches, lush green landscapes, as well as some of the best diving and hiking spots. The capital city Roseau is situated on the west coast of the island along the tranquil waters of the Caribbean Sea. Dominica was formerly a British colony and gained independence from Britain on the 3rd November 1978. Dominica is dubbed the “Nature Isle of the Caribbean” as it epitomizes an unspoiled island paradise. The Sisserou Parrot is endemic to Dominica and is the national bird.
Dominica is arguably the most breathtaking island in the Caribbean, offering one of the best standards of living in the region. With a diverse blend of English, French, African and Caribbean people and cultures, obtaining a Dominican second passport allows you to reside and work in a politically and economically stable state with the lowest crime rate in the region.
The island has 365 rivers as well as numerous waterfalls and lakes. The Boiling Lake is the second-largest hot spring in the world. UNESCO has designated the Trois Piton National Park as a World Heritage Site. The Carib Indians were the indigenous inhabitants of Dominica, and 3,700 acres have been legally designated as a Carib Territory. This Reserve is home to approximately 3,000 Carib Indian descendants, and the land is held in communal ownership. There is a local system of Government within the Territory, which is headed by a Carib Chief. The Caribs are well known for their art and craft products. Introduced in 1993, the Dominica citizenship by investment program is a long-standing trusted and reputable program. It has its legal foundations in the Constitution of Dominica as well as the Citizenship Act. Under the Program, persons of good character and who are eligible to apply for citizenship are invited to invest in the country either by way of real estate investment in an approved Government project or through a donation to the National Development Fund. In return for the investment and having satisfied the Program requirements, the applicant is granted lifetime Dominican citizenship.
The country has become one of the most affordable and flexible Dominica second passport program available to wealthy investors. With the new rules in place, the need for residency to gain citizenship was waived, and applicants are granted complete citizenship for themselves as well as their family. Furthermore, applicants and their families are allowed visa-free travel to over 140 countries, including the UK and EU Schengen zones.
As an applicant, you may include any one or all of the following family members as part of their application. This includes the applicant’s spouse, children up to 30 years of age, as well as parents and grandparents above 65 years old. Through Dominican citizenship by investment, family members are also granted lifetime citizenship and a Dominica second passport. There is no requirement to reside in Dominica before or after citizenship is granted.
