Yemeni Nationals Now Suspended from Dominica Citizenship by Investment Programme
Yemen_Flag confirmed in a January 15th circular, Yemeni nationals are now ineligible to apply for Citizenship by Investment in Dominica, effective as of January 19th, 2024. The government confirmed the suspension of all future applications of all individuals originating from Yemen, with no exception, as part of its ongoing effort to ensure the security of the investment programme is upheld by restricting applications from countries deemed high risk. Yemeni citizens join the list of banned nationalities in Dominica which currently includes prospective applicants from:
- Belarus
- Northern Iraq (Kurdistan region and select cities including Amedi, Dahuk, Erbil, Kirkuk, Lalish, Raniya, Soran, Sulaymaniyah and Zakho)
- Russia
Nationals of Sudan and North Korea will be accepted if specific criteria are satisfied. The investor should be able to demonstrate they have no substantial ties to the country in the form of local assets or business dealings and have lived out of the country for at least ten (10) years prior to the start of their application.
Although this development narrows the options available to Yemeni nationals, they are still eligible to apply for citizenship by investment in Antigua & Barbuda, Grenada, St. Lucia and St. Kitts & Nevis provided they meet all eligibility requirements.
